Settling In…

June 6, 2008

After 3 months in New England working on my documentary, I’ve finally started my life in Utah. I came home to find my roommate had purchased a new big screen tv that is almost offensive in its size. Fine with me. I’ll post pictures of the new place after I get around to taking some.

Now on to the mission of finding a job for the time being. Donahue and Associates in Vermont was really good to me while I was there.

In the 3 months on the east coast I was able to make big changes to my diet and work out every day without fail. I was able to run 123 miles over that time as well as flirt with some weight lifting for the first time in my life. I’ve done more stretching than I’ve ever done in my life and my chiropractor tried some new things on me. This all added up to me being in much better shape and feeling pretty good. I’m optimistic I can reach my goals, including running a full marathon next year. Of course I get here in Utah and promtly get sick and fall behind in my workouts and had an accident where I’m very lucky I didn’t lose an eye.

My family hasn’t been together a ton over the last few years, but we got to spend a few days together this week as my Sister passed through on her way back to Boston for grad school. My youngest Sister graduated high school and my Brother came out for a rare Utah cameo.

I had an incredible time in Boston for game 1 of the ECF, and if the game action wasn’t enough, we had the experience of running out of gas in New Hampshire because all the 24 hour gas stations were closed for some silly reason. That was fun.

The Celtics won  game 1 of the finals tonight and I’m not shocked. But I am shocked at how disrespected they’ve been this last week. Anybody who watches these games can see that the Celtics are equipped to neutralize pretty much all of LA’s strengths and exploit a lot of their weaknesses. Oh well, who cares what people say about you…it’s about what you do.
