I Hate St. Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2008

I’ve despised this day for nearly a decade now. It’s just an excuse for morons to pretend to be Irish and/or mock Irish culture by binge drinking and acting like all around asses. I never wear green on this day. If I drank, today would be the one day I would go out of my way not to drink.

End Of An Era

March 10, 2008

Kyle Cieplicki and Chad Powlovich – friends of the blog from way back likely played their last game for the University of Vermont Men’s Basketball Team. I attended basketball camp with Kyle and Chad was a teammate of mine in a men’s league several years back. Both guys were part of something special with their run in the NCAA Tournament (beating Syracuse) in the 2004-05 season. These are the last 2 guys I played with or against to go through the college system, there were several (1, 2, 3) that played and played well at UVM. I’m officially old now.

** UPDATE **

That and the fact that I received an email about my 10 year high school reunion the other day. Boooooooooooooooo!

Random Stuff

March 4, 2008

So I’m back in Vermont for the next 3 months. Back to work on my documentary. Hopefully we will pretty wrap thing up with this project because I have about 10 other projects I can’t wait to focus on.

Before my trip back to Vermont, I finally moved. I’m now a resident of Utah. Wow, that happened fast. I’ll try to get some pictures of the new digs up here in the next couple of days, but I couldn’t be more in love with the place. I forgot how great it was to have my own washer and dryer, dishwasher, garage, etc. It changed my life for the week and a half or so I got to spend there before I shipped out east. It was hilarious that on the day that I finally finished unpacking my junk in my new house I had to start packing for this work trip. I was officially settled for about 2 hours.

It’s a Winter wonderland here, but I wouldn’t be able to take advantage even if I enjoyed Winter sport type activities. My first week has been a whirl wind of taxes, fund raising, shopping for office space, and other etc. stuff. I’ll hopefully have information on donating to the film soon if you’re interested. It will be tax deductible and get your name in the credits!

So Dr. D and I went to There Will Be Blood tonight. Daniel Day-Lewis is really good, but the movie overall might be a tad overrated. What we mainly took from it was a craving for milkshakes based on the last scene so we hooked ourselves up at Price Chopper. Amazing how milk shakes make you feel warm in a Vermont Winter.

Last Saturday Vinnie and I went to some Vietnamese hole in the wall for lunch. Big mistake. Quail eggs aren’t so good.
